Is It Safe To Travel Within India Right Now: Domestic Travel Advisory India

With so many cases being reported every day in multiple locations around the world, the spread of novel coronavirus has had the travelers – both natives and tourists – on the edge.

Here is the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) travel advice for the public by WHO*:

Domestic Travel Advisory India

1. Wash your hands more often

Frequently clean your hands. Wash them with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand rub.

Washing your hands often kills viruses that might be there on your hands.

2. Maintain social distancing

Maintain some distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Avoid crowded places or public transport where you might interact with people who are sick.

3. Avoid touching your face as much possible

Hands touch many surfaces during a day and the probability of picking up the viruses is more. If contaminated, the virus can be easily transferred from your hands to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus may enter the human body and cause sickness.

4. Maintain respiratory hygiene

Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Use your bent elbow or tissue (which you must dispose of after use).

By following good respiratory hygiene you can protect the people around you.

5. Avoid handshake

When greeting someone, it is advisable to avoid physical contact like a handshake or a hug. Greet people with a nod, wave or a bow instead.

6. Use a mask

A medical mask is not required if exhibiting no symptoms. There is no evidence that wearing a mask of any type protects non-sick persons. If a mask is to be used, you must ensure that this measure must be combined with other hygiene measures discussed above to prevent the human-to-human transmission of 2019-nCov.

7. Seek early medical care

In case you have a fever or cough and find it difficult to breathe, you must seek early medical care and try to stay at home. Follow your local health authority’s directions. Because the authorities will have the most up to date information on the situation in your area.
